Personally, I feel that I'm most drawn to Lincoln Douglas and Original Oratory. I've always been deeply inspired by the great orators of history: Mark Antony, Martin Luther King Jr., Pericles, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, etc. These men have all so eloquently used their words to stir the hearts of their audiences and incite people to do remarkable things. I aspire to be like these great men, and the two events I listed allow me to most closely imitate my greatest role models.
Public forum is going to be awesome. I have always liked the teamwork included. The only problem is when your teammate is winging it or has no citing. Other than that it is fun and you have someone to help you if you hiccup.
I personally like Lincoln Douglas Debate with the idea of Current events in Public Formal Debate. I like to discuss current events whether it’s as small as something in the City or as large as an International crises. I like to do plenty of research and learn as much about the topic as can prior to a discussion. I also like to memorize information so I don’t have to site it in a fast past discussion.
Congress becuase it brings up ideals and other ways of looking at solving or creating certain issues. And with being able to creat a speech on the spot with only a topic of choice sounds fun, challenging, also a good way to learn critical thinking skills in a time frame of only a matter of minutes.
congress becus it alowes sevral peolpe to sare an oppenon and it also appels to my ego when i get called seneter hammond. as for the speach even i will be honist i am not a huge fan of the speach events but if i had to pick on it would be orignal oritory
The original oratory and humorous are the most appealing to me. I feel like I can use these the most efficiently for me. I like knowing what I'm arguing and what I'm talking about I like to argue when I know I'm right. I do not like arguing speech when I don't know what I'm arguing.
Original Oratory seems like the best choice for me. It allows for a lot of preparation as opposed to other events, so I'd like that one a lot more. It's also nice to get better at public speaking and apply with these events. Speeches are moving and powerful if written powerfully, so that seems to be the most appealing.
i think that public debating appeals to me most because i am really good at knowing whats going and all the current events i also think humorous speech because i like funny things it brings a good laugh and i am looking forward to doing these things both i think that they will be really fun.
I think Public Forum Debate appeals to me the most. I like being able to express my opinion but also have back-up to support me in it. I also think teamwork is beneficial. As for the speech events, I like the Duo Interpretation. I like to be humorous and like I said before, I work best with somebody. With a partner you can have a conversation and do gesture's and motions that will really make the scene come alive. I think both of these events will be really fun and I'm looking forward to doing them.
I like the LD because I am the type of person who can convey emotion very well to other people. The speech part is hard I will ultimately go with oral oratory because it is something that will not be a challenge for me.
to me its Lincoln Douglas i like just me and a little time to prepare i can get more out when its just me talking less intruptons and i am good at getting a topic and running with it
Ld debate just because I think that's where my strongest peak is. Unlike humorous speech where I feel where I'm more comfortable because it involves a way to make your audience laugh and at the same time prove why your argument is right. It's a win, win..... For me at least
for me its original oratory because if its something im passinate about i can believe it or not argue for or against it i can think on the fly and have in sight.

ReplyDeleteCongress; Because I like to be able to share with other people that share the same thoughts about the subject.

ReplyDeletepolicy debate because it has a set topic that you can prepare for and original oratory for the same reasons.

ReplyDeleteLincoln Douglas. I think that seven debates would be perfect for me because it's more time for more ideas. I think that helped a lot for both parties.
