Summary:
Mass shootings are happening more and more often. They are usually ending before the police can get to the scene. Between 2000 and 2013, there have been 160 shootings. With every shooter, the motive is different "but the mind-set of the shooter is often the same". 2012 was the bloodiest year for active shooter incidents. As these mass shootings continue, school administrators are becoming more and more concerned with avoiding shootings that they are neglecting other frequent risks for students such as suicide. The number 1 target for a shooter is most likely businesses such as offices, malls, and movie theaters. The next most frequent target is students in educational settings.
